I'm bringing it back!

From the recent emails and messages I get, I’m noticing a pattern. Despite using moisturizers, most of us are dealing with scaly, flaky, tight or dull skin. It doesn’t matter if we are dry or oily, nearly all of us are experiencing it.

It’s dehydration. Not the drink 8 glasses of water a day kinda dehydration. But the do that and use more hydrating skincare kinda dehydration.

Our skin is screaming for us to hit pause on the rich creams. So we will. For the sake of softer, plumper skin we will - through the hydration challenge.

I’m bringing it back!

What is it?

A couple of months ago, I challenged you to add more hydration in your skincare routine. Let’s do that again.

Who can do it?

Open to all skin types and skin concerns.

What do you need for the challenge?

  • Your favorite cleanser. If you don’t have one, the Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel will do you right.

  • Your favorite aloe vera gel. Yes, you can use the one direct from the leaf if you want.

  • Your favorite moisturizer. Even regular old Vaseline in the blue jar or Johnsons baby oil will do.

How do you do it?

Every day from tomorrow, Sunday 11th November - Sunday 2 December (that’s 4 weeks) in your AM and PM skincare routine:

  • Cleanse your skin properly as usual. Let it dry for a few seconds.

  • Apply the aloe vera gel on your skin, let it dry. If you use other serums, essences, mists etc, you would also use them at this stage.

  • Finally follow up with your moisturizer or oil of choice on top of the aloe vera gel.

  • Wake up to softer, plumper skin every day and share your #iwokeuplikethis selfie or story by tagging me, @skincerelyglow and #maji on Instagram or Twitter.

Remember it’s tomorrow, Sunday 11th! Get any supplies you need and let’s get glowing in time for the holidays, shall we?
